Scout Skunk

This character came about when I was drawing Skippy Squirrel from Animaniacs for fun, when one of the drawings came out sort of weird. I played around with it to try to cover the fact that it was supposed to be Skippy. It turned out to look like a skunk.

I liked the character, so I played around with Scout's design until I came up with something I liked. He was around before I was inspired to write about Bart Bat, but I kept him to be Bart's cute sidekick of his show while the camera is on them, and his biter co-star when the camera is turned away. I mean bitter by the fact that he was born (or drawn) being adorable and cute and always ends up getting "the cute sidekick" role when he desires to be in serious roles with serious actors.

I also kept him around to be some sort of voice of reason for Bart. Bart is usually out of control and Scout ends up taking responsibility for him. Despite him being adorable and small, Scout plays an important parental figure to Bart.
