Cain Cayote

uncolored :)
Here is Cain Cayote. He plays the mean and aggressive starving antagonist in Bart Bat's show. He tries to kill and eat Bart and Scout every chance he gets, but he is always outsmarted by the star. In real life, however, he is actually good friends with both Bart and Scout, unlike Courtney Cat. In real life, he has many fans, but he is very insecure about himself. He is always on a diet to keep himself slim, but usually starves himself anyways to "keep in character". He hates to see his face and body, thinking its absolutely horrible, and keeps himself from eating any kind of meat, because when he does, he goes crazy and starts attacking everything in sight, eating anything or anyone in his way.
other than that, he is quite a nice guy, and always helps Bart and Scout when he can :)

Courtney and Scout uncolored Designs

(of course, these are not thier actual sizes in compared to one another) These are Bart's co-stars (Scout is his sidekick and Courtney is an antagonist in his show.) I still have to decide Courtney's colors, but Scout's are basically black and white. I've written a little about Scout, so here is a little bit about Courtney. She is one of the characters in Bart's show that tries to eat him (I suppose that cats will eat bats) and she does so by trying to seduce him. She fails, of course, usually seducing everyone but Bart. In real life, she still despises Bart, but instead of trying to eat him, she tries to become a bigger star by trying to make him look bad and stuff like that. She is your typical diva that has a whole bunch of admiring fans, but nothing is ever good enough for her.
More characters later :)

To Get It Started

To get "Bart Bat" started, I've been sketching and making short comic stories featuring Bart. I've written the first one completely, I just have to sketch it out and complete it.
Heres what i've done so far:
please ignore spelling or grammar mistakes, the bubbles are just to help me plan it out.
Well, all in all, this chapter is about Bart completely ruining a movie that was going to be terrible anyways. He is offered a role in a war movie and accepts because he gets to work with Johanna Scarlettson (for some reason, cartoon animals like human chicks). He throws away the script and generally does as he pleases right after he reads his first line and realizes its pure crap. He also leaves Scout at the Wal-Mart. I'll try to finish sometime soon.

Scout Skunk

This character came about when I was drawing Skippy Squirrel from Animaniacs for fun, when one of the drawings came out sort of weird. I played around with it to try to cover the fact that it was supposed to be Skippy. It turned out to look like a skunk.
I liked the character, so I played around with Scout's design until I came up with something I liked. He was around before I was inspired to write about Bart Bat, but I kept him to be Bart's cute sidekick of his show while the camera is on them, and his biter co-star when the camera is turned away. I mean bitter by the fact that he was born (or drawn) being adorable and cute and always ends up getting "the cute sidekick" role when he desires to be in serious roles with serious actors.
I also kept him around to be some sort of voice of reason for Bart. Bart is usually out of control and Scout ends up taking responsibility for him. Despite him being adorable and small, Scout plays an important parental figure to Bart.
Character design later, but here is some pics I based him off:

Bart Bat Design

Here are some of the final designs for Bart Bat. I'm still deciding on the final colors, but this is basically it. I'll put up more character designs later.

Bartholomew Bat

So, I've been watching a lot of "Animaniacs", and its only expected that the greatest cartoon show from the 90's is going to inspire me to do something new. Well, it did, along with my re-watching of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and the somewhat spinoff cartoon show of the movie, "Bonkers", I kind of started to like the idea that cartoons are actually actors in studios and such, and that humans have five fingers while toons have four and that we can all interact on a physical level. Actually, to be honest, I used to think this was true when I was a kid.
So, I started to brainstorm. I had an idea to set the stage for the story, but I had no characters or plot. Then I re-watched Ferngully and realized how much I loved Batty as a kid, and how he was the only reason why I even watched that movie as one. So, I decided, lets make a bat. A crazy one.
heres some pictures of what I based my designs of the original character as I developed him:
And thats only two of them.
And although his design does resemble Batty Koda, He was based of of him in a way. After I had more of a chance to develop him, he became less like batty and had developed his own type of crazy.
I don't have any images of my final design on my computer, but I'll get to that later. All in all, Bartholomew Bat was created, and the plot kinda fell together. It's a lot more goofy and light than my other stories, but it does try to send a message across (I'll also get to that later)
